Strawberry Garlic Facial Scrub & Mask
Strawberries are great astringents, and, despite its aroma, garlic makes a great toner for oily and acneic skin. The sweet odor of the strawberries does a good job of neutralizing (but not completely masking) the garlic aroma. The tea tree oil pretty much covers it completely though a bit of garlic-i-ness still shines through. It feels great on the skin, especially oily areas on teen skin, and you'll feel the slight tingle of the combined astringent action of the tea tree, strawberries and garlic.

Blending Procedure:
1. Press the garlic using a presser. Be sure to catch all of the juice and pressed garlic into a small cup. Add the hot distilled water to the garlic and allow to soak for 1/2 hour or so.
2. Mash the strawberries with the back of a fork until they are totally squished. Do not process them in a food processor as they will become too watery for this recipe. The strawberries should be squished, but there should still be light chunks of flesh.
3. Using a cheese cloth, piece of muslin or strainer, strain the garlic from the steeped garlic water. Discard the garlic pieces and pour the garlic water into the strawberry flesh. Stir.
4. Add the oats and cornmeal and stir to incorporate. Add the yogurt and stir.
5. Add the tea tree essential oil last and stir to mix. To use, place Strawberry Garlic Facial Scrub & Mask in your palms and gently scrub face and neck area avoiding eyes. You can allow the mixture to remain on the skin for about 10 minutes as a mask. Rinse well using warm water and pat excess moisture from skin. Follow with toner and light moisturizer.
